Making an Appointment
To make an appointment, please call the clinic on 0406 028 019 and leave a message with your name, number and the urgency of your appointment.
Alternatively, please send us an email via our contact form with your details. Suzanne Caragianis is not available for appointments on Mondays and Thursdays.
Do I need a Referral?
Coastal Hand Therapy is a private practice, so therefore you do not require a doctor's referral if you are claiming through your private health cover under Occupational Therapy. If you have sustained a work injury or have been involved in a motor vehicle accident, you will require a referral letter from your treating medical specialist and/or claims manager.
We will also need details of your claim and approval for assessment and treatment. If this is not available, you will need to pay on the day and claim back from the third party. If you are coming via Veterans Affairs and have a gold card, we will require a referral letter and your card number. Our services are then covered by DVA.
NDIS Clients
Coastal Hand Therapy is not a registered provider with NDIS, however clients who are self managed or plan managed are most welcome. We would require a referral letter from an OT or your plan manager to ensure our specialty services are in your plan. We are happy to discuss anticipated costs of treatment and splints with your plan manager
Do you accept Enhanced Primary Care (EPC) Plans?
Yes, we do accept patients who have an EPC plan from their general practitioner. They must refer to “Occupational Therapy” as the allied health service. There is a gap on the consultation fee and unfortunately Medicare does not pay for any splints or exercise equipment needs.
Do you undertake any Medico Legal Assessment or Reports?
As an expert in her field, Suzanne Caragianis will undertake appropriate expert medical opinion work, providing it is within her field of expertise. She will require payment for the initial assessment and report reading time on the day and subsequent reports 14 days following their completion.
